Signs of Extra-Terrestrial Life

Planets resembling earth can be found orbiting many suns like stars in our galaxy. This theory increases the prospect of finding extraterrestrial life in the vast universe. To know what form of life can evolve in distant planets, it is very essential to know that whether earth like rocky planets exists in the universe. According to a study it is found that between 20% to 60% of stars similar to our sun have conditions favorable for forming rocky planets like earth. The scientists studied six group of stars- all similar to our sun and sorted by age-with the youngest being ten and thirty million years old and the oldest between a billion and three billion years old. They detected discs of cosmic dust around stars in some of the youngest groups surveyed. The dust is believed to be a by product of rocky debris colliding and merging to form planets. Many of these planets will be icy, and some of them will be rocky. This earth like planets can harbor different forms of life. Scientists also predict that there may be objects the same mass as earth. This study gives us vital signs that life may sprout in distant planets and galaxies.
